Mission Valley Greenway Initiative
San Diego River Park Foundation in partnership with the San Diego River Coalition, the San Diego River Conservancy, City of San Diego and the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition are working to create the San Diego River Trail between Fashion Valley Road and Qualcomm Stadium.

The Initiative calls for completing the "missing links" in this portion of the River Trail, much of which already exists. The missing links include under SR 163, under and east of SR 805, and between Fenton Marketplace and Qualcomm Stadium.
With construction of the River Trail between Pacific Highway and Hotel Circle Place in January 2008, this is the next top priority project in Mission Valley.
The Initiative also calls for increasing the experience of River Trail users through informational signs, benches and other amenities. An important element of this is to increase safety for trail users.
The third component of the Initiative is to pursue recommendations of a study being done by the City of San Diego to create safe crossings at the places where the River Trail crosses roads in Mission Valley, such as Mission Center Road and Qualcomm Way. Potential options include bridges or crossing lights.
This is a very exciting initiative that will create connections for people of Mission Valley and others who are looking for the experience of riding a bike, walking or rolling along the River.
