With the completion of the Plan, the City of San Diego, the City of Santee and the County of San Diego were asked to take necessary steps to formalize the Conceptual Plan into their appropriate land use documents.
The City of San Diego began a multi-year effort to adopt a River Park Master Plan for their 17 miles of the San Diego River. This planning efforts continues to this day.
