As the San Diego River Park Foundation celebrates a quarter century of protecting, restoring, and connecting people to the San Diego River watershed, we are incredibly grateful for the volunteers, donors, partners, and community members who have made 25 years of impact possible.

We’re excited to share our Summer 2026 River Currents Newsletter, reflecting on all that we have accomplished together for the San Diego River while looking ahead to the next chapter of our work and the exciting opportunities to continue making a difference for the watershed.

Inside, you’ll find a special message from our President and CEO, Rob Hutsel, one of the founders of the San Diego River Park Foundation, along with stories that celebrate the many ways our community has taken action—and continues to make a difference—for the River. From conserving critical wildlife habitat to healing the river through trash and invasive plant removal, inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards, and advancing the San Diego River Park and Trail system from the mountains to the ocean, every accomplishment has been made possible because of our amazing SD River community.

Thank you for being part of our first 25 years and for helping shape what comes next. We look forward to continuing to create lasting change for the River together for generations to come!
