River Rescue Team
Leading the way in River clean-up
The San Diego River Rescue Team was first started in 2009 to address trash sites that were too small, remote or complicated for our regular community clean-ups. Over the years, this team of dedicated volunteers has become a fine-oiled machine, removing thousands of pounds of trash from the riverbed every week!
The River Rescue Team currently meets on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. While many of these volunteers come out on a regular basis, newcomers are welcome and there is no long-term commitment to volunteer with this team. We hope volunteers will find camaraderie working together with the team, rolling up our sleeves to have fun and make a difference!
Locations for River Rescue events are set weekly, so email Rachel Downing, our Program Manager at rachel@sandiegoriver.org for information about upcoming clean-ups or to be added to the email list for this team.
