ANNUAL SOCK DRIVE - Is Different in 2024

This year it is the Everything But Socks Drive
Our recent survey showed an alarming number of people living in the riverbed - more than 420 people were found in the area we survey. Sadly, most won't accept housing and other services from public agencies when initially offered.
Care packages can be a way to build a relationship and provide much needed items such as socks and toiletries. Socks are the number one item requested. But thanks to many generous gifts, we have plenty of socks to give but we need help with the other items people need.
Over time,we have found trust can build and people will begin to accept housing and other offered services. We then work closely with social service providers to support people getting into other living arrangements - out of the hazard of living in flood prone areas.
We create 200 care packages at a time.
ITEMS NEEDED:
- Toothpaste - travel size or larger
- Toothbrushes - individually wrapped or small packs
- Rain Ponchos - individually wrapped
- Hand Santizer Wipes - individual or travel packs
- Individually Wrapped Bars - soft energy bars rather than crunchy granola bars
Donations can be dropped off at our office M - F 9 - 2PM or give us a call for other arrangements at 619-297-7380.
If you prefer, make a donation, and we will buy items that are needed for the care packages.

NOTE: We partner with the San Diego Humane Society for pet needs. So pet items are not needed to help our pet friends!
