Our organization was founded on July 18, 2001, by volunteers and continues to be grounded in grassroots nature stewardship activites including education, restoration, research and more. We advocate for the creation of a river-long park and trail system. You are invited to be part of the community of people dedicated to celebrating our river. As a public benefit nonprofit, we rely on donations and grants to sustain these efforts.

Our Current Priorities for Directed Donations
- River Center at Grant Park - $10,000 is needed to activite $500k federal grant
Join the effort to create a river and wildlife education center in Mission Valley. We need to complete NEPA compliance before we can take advantage of this grant. The cost of this will be $14,000. That means if $14.000 can be raised, $500,000 will become available for the project. $4000 has been raised toward the goal. Almost there!

Clean River Campaign
We believe all rivers should be pollution free. Sadly, an estimated 1 million pounds of trash enters the San Diego Riverbed each year. Your gift will support efforts to change this. We organize 2-3 cleanups every week, work with landowners and public agencies, and advocate for policy changes to reduce the flow of trash into the river.
Wildlife Research
Did you know that the San Diego River may have the greatest bioiversity of any place in the country? We focus our research on identifying threats and opportunities to not only care for the San Diego River but also wildlife important to its ecoystem. One of our programs is Critter Cam - a network of remote wildlife cameras that document the presence and movement of large mammals.
